FAQs

Common questions about sports physical therapy in Denver, CO and how we work with active adults.

Do I need a referral to book an evaluation?

No referral needed. Colorado allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule your first visit without seeing a doctor first. We'll coordinate with your physician if needed.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your initial evaluation includes a movement assessment, discussion of your training and goals, and a clear plan forward. Most first visits last 60 minutes and you'll leave with exercises or modifications to start immediately.

Do you take insurance?

Summit Performance Physiotherapy is a cash-based practice. We do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement if your plan includes PT benefits.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your injury, training history, and goals. Some athletes see significant progress in 3-4 visits, while others benefit from ongoing support through training cycles. We'll discuss a realistic timeline during your evaluation.

Can I continue training while working with you?

Yes. Our goal is to keep you training as much as possible while managing load and modifying movements that aggravate your injury. Complete rest is rarely the answer for active adults.
